 Hello everyone!

I hope that your examination of class 8th is over and you're now starting your journey of class 9th. To the all students who are now now going to start class 9, I would like to say one thing. Now you are in a marathon! A marathon which starts in class 9 and doesn't end till you get into a good college. So, whatever you did earlier, whether you studied very well or whether you didn't study well earlier. But if you want to appear for NTSE , JSTSE , Olympiads , JEE ,  NEET , KVPY , or any other competititve examinations and if you want that your chance of selection should be maximum then start preparing for these from class 9. I will post separate posts on 'How to start preparing for different competitive exams from class 9?'. So, now I am going to share a complete roadmap on How to start class 9? Which books should be followed for class 9? And which timetable should be followed for class 9?

    How to start class 9 Science?

    So, let's start with Science. First of all I want to tell you that Science of class 9 is very important as it is also base of class 11th Science. So, your motive should not be to only complete the syllabus but you have to study little bit more than what's given in your book. 

    You should start Physics with chapter Motion. Then proceed with the succeeding chapters related to Motion. Since,you will face numericals first time you might feel hard to solve them. First you should attend online or offline lectures of the Physics and make your own class notes. Then I will recommend you to read every chapter to read from any reference book like books of  Pradeep Publication Physics or S. Chand Publication or any other publication's book and underline the important points while reading and if necessary add it to your class notes. Then solve all the questions from the reference book. Then you should read NCERT and solve it's questions. Practice more and more questions in Physics. By doing this you will build a very strong concept in Physics and certainly you will be benefited in future especially in JEE and NEET!

    You should start Biology with chapter Cells. Then proceed with the succeeding chapters related to Cell. Since,you had already studied Cell chapter earlier in class 8th too you will find this chapter little easy. Diversity in living organisms is the chapter should be paid more attention especially for NEET aspirants. First you should attend online or offline lectures of the Biology and make your own class notes. Then I will recommend you to read every chapter to read from any reference book like books of Pradeep Publication Biology or S. Chand Publication or any other publication's book and underline the important points while reading and if necessary add it to your class notes. Then solve all the questions from the reference book. Then you should read NCERT and solve it's questions. Please note that you have to make habit of learning important points in Biology. By doing this you will build a very strong concept in Biology and certainly you will be benefited in future especially in NEET!

    You should start Chemistry with chapter Matter Around Us. Then proceed with the succeeding chapters related to Matter Around Us. Since,you will face numericals first time in Chemistry you might feel hard to solve them.  First you should attend online or offline lectures of the Chemistry and make your own class notes. Then I will recommend you to read every chapter to read from any reference book like books of Pradeep Publication Chemistry or S. Chand Publication or any other publication's book and underline the important points while reading and if necessary add it to your class notes. Then solve all the questions from the reference book. Then you should read NCERT and solve it's questions. Remember the required formulae and important points while solving questions to achieve expertise in Chemistry By doing this you will build a very strong concept in Chemistry and certainly you will be benefited in future especially in JEE and NEET!

    How to start class 9 Mathematics?

    In Mathematics you should start with chapter Number System. Then you should do chapters of Algebra Section. After that do Coordinate Geometry then full Geometry section. After that you would be able to do any chapter you wish. I will recommend you to practice more and do proofs because it plays very important role in class 9.

    How to start class 9 Social Science?

    First of all in Social Science I will suggest you to make class notes and revise it atleast weekly because it plays very important role in making grip on the subject which will help you in future very much.

    In Social Science you should start with the chapter 1 in every section then study the consequtive chapters given.

    Which books should be followed for class 9?

    In Science, as I have already discussed follow NCERT alongwith reference books of different publications. My own favourite publication for class 9 Science is Pradeep Publications.

    In Mathematics I will recommend you to solve NCERT and NCERT Exemplar book. But to make a better grip in Mathematics you should also solve either RS Aggarwal or RD Sharma after you solved NCERT and NCERT Exemplar book.

    In Social Science, I will recommend you to follow only NCERT and there is no need to follow any other book because NCERT is sufficient!

    Which timetable should be followed for class 9?

    Let me made you one thing clear that time table differs for different students because different students have different conditions. But if I talk roughly then just try to study daily with some fixed hours and in upcoming post I assure you all that I will provide you a very flexible time table which would be easy to follow for every students.
